Denver Dachshund Rescue and Transport is hosting its first annual event, Rescue Rally of the Rockies, on June 14, 2014, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Arapahoe County Fair Grounds.

The Rescue Rally of the Rockies event marks an effort to raise awareness and educate people, young and old, about dog rescues, puppy mills, pet care and more! Certified rescue organizations are invited to attend free of charge and bring dogs for possible adoptions as well as network, fundraise and of course, have fun! So far, 22 dog rescues are registered to attend, including the host Denver Dachshund Rescue.

This free rescue event is open and free to the public. The entire day will be packed with fun and educational activities. Run your dog through an agility course or sign up for a race. Watch as spectacular Flyball teams race through obstacle courses and over hurdles. From weenie dog races to dog house auctions, contests to demonstrations, stop by the fair grounds to join the festivities.

Interested in volunteering? Denver Dachshund Rescue is looking for volunteers to assist in the event. Volunteers can help direct guests, register guest dogs, and run weenie dog games and races. The mission of Denver Dachshunds Rescue and Transport Inc. is to provide a vehicle for the fostering and rehoming of abandoned Dachshund dogs, to assist in increasing the adoption of shelter dogs by promoting awareness and working with shelters to find permanent loving homes, and to educate the community regarding responsible dog ownership.
