ASBURY PARK, N.J. - May 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Ten Foot Tall wants you to get back on the highway and travel down to the Jersey Shore for Memorial Day Weekend.  The band from Hopewell, NJ will celebrate the release of their new CD on Sunday, May 25 at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park.  Joining them on the bill is Tash, Even & Kyle, Waiting on Mongo, Dr Beat & the Bad Habits, Something Soon, and Ivy League Band. Doors are at 6pm and admission is $10 in advance or $12 at the door.

There’s nothing better than kicking off the summer with a concert at The Stone Pony on Memorial Day Weekend, but the tunes from Ten Foot Tall’s new EP, “Get Back on the Highway”, will take you from the Shore to a wild ride around the country.

“We’ll start in New York, travel up the mountains and check out the view; go to Chicago, then glide down the Mississippi and flop in New Orleans,” said James Popik. “Funk in our feet, blues in our gut, jazz in our heart, and love on our mind. Whether its solo acoustic guitar fingerpicking or more jazzy electrified excursions, the songs paint colorful scenes and create moods evocative of the American landscape.”

“Get Back on the Highway” includes 6 new songs recorded with David Ivory (The Roots, Halestorm), a multiple Grammy-nominated engineer and producer.  The CD brings the energy of a live Ten Foot Tall show into focus and highlights the band’s songwriting and vocals.

“With special guests Joe Deninzon (Stratospheerius) on Violin and Emmy-winning Robert Sands on piano, the instrumental track 'The Road To Bonnaroo' also soars,” said Popik.  “Shades of the Allman Brothers are here… some say Tom Petty… it’s more a big stew of classic rock!”

Tyler Quiring in Blues Rock Review wrote, “On ‘Get Back on the Highway’, Ten Foot Tall weaves heartfelt songs focusing on the follies so typical to life while still creating a sense of hope and progress (the pertinent example being the name of the title track itself).”

Tim Louie from The Aquarian had this to say, “They have a sound that is comparable to The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd and even the Grateful Dead. I guess that’s more of a country rock sound. Either way, I really enjoyed it! Songs like ‘Get Back On The Highway,’ ‘Sleepin’ In The Devil’s Arms,’ and ‘Feelin’ Fine’ really make you want to drive out to the country (or South Jersey) with your windows rolled down, hair blowing in the wind, and blasting these tunes!”

“Get Back on the Highway” may be purchased online at www.itunes.com/tenfoottallband.  The CD will also be on May 25th at The Stone Pony (913 Ocean Avenue) in Asbury Park, NJ.
