May 22, 2014 - PRLog -- This is stated in a special review of the International Energy Agency on energy policy of the Netherlands.

The review notes that one of the largest gas producers in Europe can go by reducing economic dependence on hydrocarbons.

IEA welcomes the efficiency and focus on renewable energy.

"Promotion of energy consumption with a low proportion of use of hydrocarbons , particularly in the industrial sector and transport can make sustainable and competitive economy " , - said the head of the IEA Maria van der Hoeven.

Separately, it is mentioned that in the example of the Dutch chemical segment and processing is successful, as it has integrated the entire supply chain. This is an important achievement , given the increase in energy costs and their impact on the competitiveness of European industry .

It is expected that in the next decade the country will become a net importer of natural gas , because the dependence on energy remains high, and stocks of raw materials has been steadily declining.

Due to this factor, the Netherlands must reassess our energy security , focusing on renewable energy, alternative fuels and nuclear energy.
