Follow on Google News | Solicitor to Tackle 62-Mile "Ride the Night" Challenge for CharityA solicitor - and cycling novice - at one of Darlington and County Durham’s longest established law firms is to embark on a gruelling night bike challenge to help raise vital funds for three major cancer charities.
‘Woman V Cancer Ride the Night’ will see thousands of women take part in a bike ride from Royal Windsor racecourse and throughout London on May 31. Nicola, who only started cycling in April, aims to complete the feat in six and a half hours, and has so far raised more than £260 for the various charities, smashing the event’s minimum sponsorship target of £199. Nicola said: "It will be a great personal challenge for me, but is one that I am determined to complete as it will benefit three fantastic causes. I haven’t cycled since I was a child, but I have managed a number of long distance rides over the last few weeks, as well as getting in some road cycling in the evenings, to prepare myself for the race. "The three charities do an amazing amount of work to raise awareness and I am delighted to help raise money for them all. I would like to thank everyone for their kind donations and support so far.” Anne Elliott, marketing partner at Latimer Hinks Solicitors, said: "The fact that Nicola has only started cycling recently is a testament to her character that she is willing to participate in such a demanding race for these vital charities. I am sure that Nicola will embrace the challenge, and I would like to wish her all the best with the bike ride.” End
