NEW YORK - May 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Trends expert and keynote speaker Daniel Levine is tracking the rise of the solar panel. The cell-based, sunlight collecting technology is causing major changes in the way power is generated.

“As we look for ways to generate power without using fossil fuels, the sun has become a hot commodity,” says Daniel Levine. “Looking to the sky has become a means of power that we must explore.”

The sun as an energy source has proliferated across a variety of means. It has become prevalent in the automobile industry, as manufacturers look for non-oil based means of propulsion. Electric car makers are using solar technology as a means of charging their vehicles. Brands like Tesla are promising free charging to their customers at strategically-placed docks around the United States. Automakers are also exploring solar power as a means of power for automobiles, skipping the need to charge batteries.

Municipalities are also adopting solar power. Energy generated from solar panels is being used to power bridges, charge cell phones, and keep road signs turned on. Private homes are also switching to solar power, with panels taking up roof and yard space at a growing rate. The private solar panel is coming so popular, in fact, that retailers like IKEA are starting to offer sun collecting cells in their stores.

“Solar panels are an obvious way for environmentally-minded citizens to cut down on fossil fuel use,” says Levine. “They’re easy to install and relatively cheap, meaning they pay for themselves within a short period of time. It’s an obvious solution to a long-standing problem.”
