VENTURA, Calif. - May 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Businesses now have easy access to information about  no-cost and  low-cost resources in Ventura County--all on one website. The “Ventura County Grows Business” website (www.VenturaCountyGrowsBusiness.com) was developed with support from the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) of Ventura County.

“We want to let businesses know that a wide range of resources is available to them at little or no cost,” says Brian Gabler, chair of the WIB’s outreach committee and director of economic development and assistant city manager for the City of Simi Valley. “The Ventura County Grows Business website offers quick access to the business resources that companies need to thrive and grow in Ventura County.”

VenturaCountyGrowsBusiness.com lists eight categories of business support: startup, manufacturing consulting, funding, international trade, business transition, business consulting, recruitment and training. “Instead of surfing the web to find information or help on their own, businesses can go to the site, click on a category and directly connect with the listed organizations for assistance,” says Gabler.

Many Ventura County businesses are already taking advantage of the services available, and the website features video testimonials about their experiences. One of those is VSolvit (pronounced We Solve it), a technology services provider that specializes in geographic information systems, business intelligence and data warehousing. Seeking to grow its workforce, VSolvit accessed free recruiting services. “The recruitment programs were incredibly helpful in not only identifying the right talent, but also continuing to nourish that talent through educational and training programs,” says Ashish Shah, COO of VSolvit, “We have had tremendous success from an employee standpoint with those that have come through as part of this program.”

WIB representatives will be presenting information about business support opportunities to Ventura County business and trade groups. “There are a surprisingly large number of local resources,” says Gabler. “Just about every business could benefit in some manner.”

For speaking inquiries, contact Talia Barrera, WIB administration manager, at talia.barrera@ventura.org.

Members of the WIB include leaders from business, economic development, education, labor, government and community-based organizations.
