The Oregon International Air Show traces its roots back to 1988, when the name of the yearly air shows for the first several years changed from the Portland Rose Festival to the Maxwell House Rose Festival Air show and then to the U.S. Bank Rose Festival Air Show. The air show changed its name for last time in 2002 to the current Oregon International Air Show. With an average attendance of 65,000 visitors per year, the civilian air show is the largest of its kind of the West Coast. The show features static (non-flying)
This year’s event features a fireworks show on “Frontier Friday” night with The Canadian Forces Snowbirds scheduled as the closing act. Static displays will include civilian aircraft that are also scheduled for aerobatic shows as well as a variety military aircraft types. As always, the availability of military aircraft is subject to change depending on current events. Proceeds from the air show are distributed to local charities.
Standard TV and Appliance was founded as “Standard Refrigeration”
“The Oregon International Air Show is a fantastic event and we are extremely proud to be the lead sponsor for a second year”, said Bill Gander, owner of Standard TV and Appliance. He added, “The fact that the proceeds from this event come back to local communities is an added bonus”.
