The Relish and Chutney were launched at the Saltscapes Expo in April and flew off the stand. “We knew people would be excited, but we had no idea how well the products would be received. People absolutely loved the tangy taste and spicy aromas!”
The award winning ‘haskapa’ Haskap product line now includes Haskap juice (World Juice Award’s Best New Juice, 2013 & Innovative product of the year, 2013), Premium Haskap Jam, Dried Haskap, Haskap Chutney and Jalapeño Haskap Relish.
The ‘haskapa’ products have won a number of prestigious awards, most recently being shortlisted for the 2014 Global Food Awards, with winners to be announced in August 2014.
Recently named one of Canada’s Top 10 Innovators by ‘Food in Canada’ magazine, the ‘haskapa’ products are produced locally in Nova Scotia and have received numerous rave reviews in press such as ‘House & Home Canada’ & ‘Canadian Grocer’; as well as being featured on Dragon’s Den, the Dr Oz show, Cityline and The Steve & Chris show.
Haskap berries look like an elongated blueberry, have three times the antioxidants of high-bush blueberries and taste like a cross between blueberry, raspberry and blackberry.
