MANHATTAN, N.Y. - May 20, 2014 - PRLog -- New York is in a state of chaos. While scenes like Atlanta and Chicago are effortlessly churning out hits, the East Coast is questioning their place within the world of Hip-Hop. But while others scramble to defend their territory, NYC rhymer El Gant takes it all in stride. For him, it’s business as usual. Linking up with JOAT (Jack Of All Trades) who’s crafted beats for the likes of La Coka Nostra, Ill Bill and Vinnie Paz, the duo have come together to prove to the cynics that Boom bap is alive and well in 2014 with their upcoming collaborative effort, Beast Academy.

A ten track project that has the emcee spitting bars with reckless abandon over JOAT's aggressive production, Beast Academy is a hard-hitting offering that finds El Gant collaborating with grizzled veterans like Ill Bill and El Da Sensei, to New York staples such as Torae and Shabaam Sahdeeq, to upcoming artists like Chris Webby.

Gant, an emcee known for his lethal delivery on the mic, is living proof that hard work pays off. With four MTV Direct Effect Freestyle Championships under his belt that eventually lead to a full page write up from The Source Magazine, the Big Apple emcee would go onto release a string of mixtapes and projects, and in 2014, he shows no symptoms of slowing down. To date, Gant has worked with the likes of Kool Keith, Smif-n-Wessun, Paul Nice and more, and has used those experiences in crafting Beast Academy.

"The album's a reflection of where I’ve been, where I’m at, and more importantly, where I’m about to go” says Gant. “After my last album, Don’t Quit Your Day Job, I needed to step back, reassess my situation and isolate myself from counter productive people. I wanted to keep this project in my wheelhouse, while also experimenting with different sounds and artists," explains Gant.

Beast Academy will see the light of day on June 10th via CD and digital download through El Gant's Rule By Secrecy imprint.
