Memorial Healthcare System Ranked in Top Quintile of Health Providers by Truven Health Analytics

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - May 20, 2014 - PRLog -- (Hollywood, Fla.) – Memorial Healthcare System (http://www.mhs.net/) has ranked in the top quintile of 338 health providers analyzed by Truven Health Analytics for their 2014 “Top 15 Health Systems (http://100tophospitals.com/assets/15-Top-Health-Systems-Study.pdf)” list. Memorial was one of 53 health systems that ranked in the top quintile and was one of only five providers in Florida to make the list.

Truven’s rankings are based on its analysis of aggregate data from hospital systems across the country. Each system was evaluated according to its performance in eight areas, including its rate of readmissions 30 days after discharge, rate of complications, degree of patient safety, and length of stay. For example, patients at the top systems had hospital stays that were, typically, 10 percent shorter than those of patients at other systems.
