Fieldcrest Senior Living Community Adds 25,290-Square-Foot Expansion

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - May 21, 2014 - PRLog -- The increased need for senior living services and memory care options in Sheldon, Iowa prompted Fieldcrest Senior Living Community to expand its services to help area seniors. Fieldcrest Senior Living, a Vista Prairie community, will be celebrating the grand opening of its expanded facilities with a ceremonial ribbon cutting and tours of the new addition. The public is invited to join Fieldcrest staff, residents and families at the grand opening event for tours, complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages, entertainment, prizes, and speakers. The grand opening will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. The ribbon cutting will take place at 4:00 p.m.

·      Fieldcrest Senior Living Community is located at 2501 East 6^th Street, Sheldon, Iowa 51201.

The $3.5 million expansion project will feature 25 new apartments consisting of 13 Assisted Living and 12 Memory Care, a new activities room, a new health spa with whirlpool tub, a conference room, garages, and a fireplace room. The project also includes updating other areas of Fieldcrest Community to help keep residents healthy and independent.

“The project not only represents a quality of life improvement for the Sheldon community, but its need for additional senior living,” said Fieldcrest Executive Director Calvin Diekman. “Our expanded services will allow for more seniors in the area to be closer to their children, their favorite local businesses, and people they know. That’s the whole goal: to be able to help more seniors in the area.”

The 25,290-square-foot addition has been under construction since last May. Poppema-Skima Construction of Sheldon was the general contractor for the project.

Morris Knopf, president of Vista Prairie Communities, will be at the grand opening to welcome the group and congratulate Fieldcrest on the completed project. Knopf and the Fieldcrest team are excited to help more residents in the community and look forward to celebrating the expansion with friends and family.
