14TH Annual ‘CHERRY CREEK SCHOOLS FITNESS FESTIVAL’ Continues Goal of "Learn to Live Healthy"

GET READY! On September 6th, the start location may have changed, but the ‘Cherry Creek Schools Fitness Festival’ goals remain the same!

PRLog - May 20, 2014 - The ‘Fitness Festival’ moves for the first time to Stutler Bowl, an ideal venue for the Cherry Creek School District, and will feature a 5k and 1k run/walk, interactive physical challenges, field day activities for the entire family and restaurant sampling.  The combination of all these activities makes ‘The Fitness Festival’ a unique event in Denver and proves once again fitness and fun DO exist together!

Learn to Live Healthy is not only the motto of the event, but the main goal which raises funds for programs designed to further the health and wellness of over 52,000 students in the district.

“The Fitness Festival is an important tradition within the district and broader community. Supporting the health and well-being of our students, staff and families takes all of us working together.  Through the district’s partnership with the Community Asset Project (CAP) Board our students will continue to benefit from critical wellness efforts such as suicide prevention, bullying prevention, drug/alcohol prevention and learn essential social-emotional skills to reduce stress, establish and maintain positive relationships and make healthy choices,” said Dr. Harry C. Bull, Cherry Creek Schools Superintendent.

After thirteen years, the ‘Fitness Festival,’ founded by First American State Bank’s CEO Jay Davidson and his wife Kristina, was gifted to the Community Asset Project (CAP) and the Cherry Creek School District (CCSD). Now renamed the ‘Cherry Creek Schools Fitness Festival’, all funds raised will continue to be used directly by the schools for wellness initiatives.  Over $1,000,000 has been raised since the ‘Fitness Festival’s’ inception.

As always, the Healthy Living EXPO, interactive physical challenges and race viewing is free and open to the public.
