Central Coast College Celebrates Its 30th Anniversary with a New Veterinary Assistant Program

SALINAS, CA (May 2014) For 30 years, Central Coast College has been a resource for employers and a career college of choice on the Monterey Peninsula.  Bob and Liz Schaefer, President and Vice President of Central Coast College, a private California Career College located in Salinas, California, have built the foundation to help their graduates reach greater success.  They built Central Coast College on the mission "To provide high quality career training that meets the needs of our students and employers, adding to the economic vitality of the community."

In honor of the colleges 30th Anniversary, the Schaefer’s have announced:

·         The launch of the only accredited Veterinary Assistant Program in the Tri-County Area!  Central Coast College will launch its Veterinary Assistant Program beginning July 7th.  In partnership with the SPCA, Central Coast College will provide in-depth instruction in the behavior, care and treatment of animals to prepare students for a career in the Veterinary field.

o   The Veterinary community has come together to support this program.  In addition to the SPCA, supporters include: Animal Control Bureau, Animal Friends Rescue Project, Parkview Veterinarian Hospital, Romie Lane Pet Hospital, Harden Veterinarian Hospital, Salinas Animal Hospital, VCA San Martin, Animal Health Center Salinas and Steinbeck Equine Center

o   Enrollment begins May 1

o   Classes begin July 7th

·         30th Anniversary Fundraiser

o   For every student that enrolls in Central Coast College throughout the month of June, a $30 donation will be made in the student’s name to the SPCA of Monterey County in honor of the launch of the college’s new Veterinary Assistant Program.

·         A Free Community Open House on Sunday, June 22nd

o   1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

o   Food, Fun, Music, Dancing and Laughter … Something for the entire family!

o   Enjoy a Cooking Demo from Chef Brandon Miller at Mundaka – he will be making paella!

o   Get fit!  There will be 4 interactive UJAM Fitness Demos

o   Be amazed with an incredible dance performance from the Aztec Dance Group

o   The SPCA will be on site with adoptable animals

o   Sweeten up with a cookie from Sweet Elena’s

o   Learn about how we will be kicking off our next 30 years with the launch of our Veterinary Assistant Program

o   Don’t miss out on our raffle!  To kick off our Veterinary Assistant Program, we will be raffling away a 1 night stay in a family suite (dog friendly) at the Hofsas House Hotel in Carmel-by-the-Sea and a $100 dinner gift certificate to Kula Ranch in Marina. (Value $350.00) Raffle tickets will be sold at the event for $10 each.  100% of the proceeds benefit the SPCA.
