Follow on Google News | Local Wodonga Woman Receives International Honours AwardWODONGA mature aged student and mother, Genevieve Saxby, received the prestigious Golden Key Honour Award for excellence in her recent bachelor studies at Wodonga TAFE.
By: Federation University Australia Saxby is enrolled in the Bachelor of Applied Management - a new breed of degree being offered through Wodonga TAFE in partnership with Federation University Australia. Following 25 years in Allied Health Service, Saxby decided to return to studies as a means to strengthen her skills and consolidating her allied health qualifications and professional experience under a recognised degree. “When looking to undertake further studies, I needed to find a solution that would provide me with the flexibility to balance full-time work obligations, my parental responsibilities and personal life,” Ms Saxby said. “Not only has the flexible learning option offered through Wodonga TAFE provided me with the time to maintain a healthy balance between my studies, my work and my personal life - but being able to study locally has eased the stresses associated with travel and allowed me to focus on my studies, graduating with honours.” Saxby currently delivers programs for disadvantaged groups; programs designed through education to create change and opportunity. The Golden Key Honours Award is part of the international honour society with more than 400 chapters at colleges and universities around the world. Golden Key represents a high standard of scholastic achievement, and includes honoraries like Desmond Tutu, Elie Wiesel and Bill Clinton. End
