Alpha Dog Pictures Presents “Joey” Indie GoGo Pre-Production Campaign

HOUSTON - May 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Alpha Dog Pictures in association with Chad Shaver Entertainment, present “Joey”, a compelling story of one boy's struggle with Leukemia.

The Film

Joey Matthews (Scott Chase) tries to be a typical sixteen-year-old high school junior, but instead of being concerned with girls and driving lessons, he is battling chemotherapy. To Joey, life is about bettering the lives of others around him. Although, he never expected to have an impact on someone he only dreamed of, famous actress Allison Atwood (Lauren Leal). Considered Hollywood's new 'it girl,' Allison's future in film seemed bright. Yet life would soon take an unexpected turn that would put both Allison and her career into a downward spiral. Allison faced a battle of her own, fighting the demons inside her on a daily basis and struggling to stay on her feet. When Joey decides that he wants to take Allison to his high school prom, the two of them embark on a journey of self-discovery. Allison will learn that she needs Joey much more than he would ever need her. Joey is the story of the inner strength we all have and how we can use it to change the lives of those around us.

We have worked hard to get our production costs down to $250,000 for a full-scale production. The Houston area is surrounded with incredible talent in regards to cast and crew. Our budget not only allows us access to the equipment we need, but allows us to pay these local talents for their time. Making a film like this at this level would not be possible without the talented cast and crew that we are putting together.

Alpha Dog Pictures has launched a crowdfunding campaign through IndieGogo offering fans a variety of incentives. More importantly, encouraging cancer awareness is pivotal, as Alpha Dog Pictures has partnered with St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital to contribute to Leukemia research. A film production company, Alpha Dog Pictures, consist of Todd Rodgers and Joshua Pack. Chad Shaver leads Chad Shaver Entertainment. All three have worked together over the years on several projects such as “Apparition,” “Copycat,” and “The Revolution.” Chad Shaver, producer, was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at an early age. Shaver contributed to the television series “Last Call.” Todd Rodgers, director and CEO of Firestorm Pictures, was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy as a child.
