Spillane Trial Group Hires Securities and Financial Litigation Associate Kelsey Hotchkiss

LOS ANGELES - May 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Spillane Trial Group PLC announced today that Kelsey Hotchkiss joined the business litigation boutique this month as an associate. Her practice involves representing clients in federal and state court litigation, most particularly in financial matters, SEC investigations and securities actions, and FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) arbitrations.

Before joining Spillane Trial Group, Hotchkiss worked as a litigation associate at a mid-size firm specializing in state and federal court securities matters. While there, she assisted on a variety of cases, including a multi-million dollar lawsuit involving losses related to a hedge-fund investment that went before the California Court of Appeal, as well as multiple actions involving real estate investment trusts and tenant-in-common interests. Her related experience includes work on cases involving claims of breach of fiduciary duty, misrepresentation, and fraud, as well as contract disputes. In addition to arbitrations, Hotchkiss’s FINRA representation includes on-the-record hearings and 8210 requests.

Hotchkiss received her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami in 2011, where she was a fellow with the Community Lawyering Clinic. She clerked with the Securities and Exchange Commission in Miami and was an intern with FINRA in New York and Boca Raton. Hotchkiss earned her Bachelor of Arts in 2006 from the University of Chicago, where she played varsity soccer.
