GI Jive, South Carolina's Senior Action to Celebrate 70th Anniversary of D-Day

GREENVILLE, S.C. - May 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Take a step back in time and join Senior Action (http://www.senioraction.org/) in celebrating the Greatest Generation at GI Jive.

Presented by McKinney Dodge Chrysler Jeep, this 1940’s-era hangar party will be held on the 70th anniversary of D-Day, Friday, June 6^th. Join in this flashback to the USO parties packed with big bands, lively partygoers and decorated soldiers returning from war. A vintage atmosphere will come alive from 7pm to 10pm at the Downtown Airport Hangar.

The Upstate Senior Concert Big Band will perform swing, lindy hop and other favorite dances from the era on a dance floor flanked by vintage airplanes and military-issue vehicles. Period appropriate dance lessons will be provided, and costume prizes are available to those in period dress.

Come enjoy drinks, hors d’oeuvres and great company while honoring our military heroes and toasting to a time gone by at GI Jive!

Tickets are $55 per person and available online at www.senioraction.org/eventsgijive. Each ticket is general admission and includes two drink tickets and heavy hors d’oeuvres.  A cash bar is also available throughout the evening.  All proceeds benefit Senior Action and its programs to support Greenville County’s senior population.
