Long-time personal injury attorneys Milton Blaut and Michael Weiss open firm

PLANTATION, Fla. - May 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Long-time colleagues Milton Blaut and Michael Weiss have launched their own firm – Blaut Weiss Law Group (http://www.blautweiss.com/) in Plantation, Fla. The two are experienced trial attorneys who focus their practice solely on personal injury and insurance law.

Prior to opening their firm, both attorneys were with Greenspoon Marder for eight years.

“Milton and I have known each other and worked together for a long time. By opening a boutique firm we felt we could better provide our clients with personalized service,” said Weiss. Added Blaut: “Our mission statement is: P.I. means we are personally interested in your case as each case gets our personal attention.”

The two have a combined 60 years of experience in handling thousands of injury cases including wrongful death, defective products, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, insurance disputes, premises liability, animal attacks, automobile, truck, motorcycle and boating accidents.

Blaut earned his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law. He also holds a Masters of Science Degree in Accounting from Syracuse University - Martin J. Whitman School of Management.

Prior to working at Greenspoon Marder, Blaut spent 29 years with Abrams Anton in Fort Lauderdale, which in 2004 merged with Greenspoon Marder.

He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and was named a Diplomate of the Florida Justice Association (formerly, Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers). He has served as a member of The Florida Bar Committee on the Rules of Evidence, The Florida Bar Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure and the Florida Bar Health Laws Committee. He also was a founding Fellow of the Southern Trial Lawyers Association and a Senior Counsel member of the American College of Barristers. He was named one of South Florida’s top rated lawyers in 2012 by American Lawyer Media. Blaut is licensed to practice in Florida and New York and is Peer-rated "AV" Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell.

Weiss earned his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law and Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Union College in Schenectady, New York. He is Peer-rated "AV" Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell. He also was named one of South Florida’s top rated lawyers in 2012 by American Lawyer Media. He is licensed to practice in Florida.

Prior to working at Greenspoon Marder, Weiss spent 12 years as an insurance defense trial attorney working on behalf of doctors, hospitals, municipalities, corporations, individuals and insurance companies.

“This invaluable experience has provided me with a strong understanding of the tactics and analysis used by defendants and their insurers,” said Weiss.

Weiss is a member of the Board of Directors and the Chairman of Trustees at the Coral Springs Chamber of Commerce. He was Vice Chairman of Trustees (2012-2014) and was a finalist for the Coral Springs Chamber of Commerce Corporate Man of the Year in 2012.

Weiss also is vice president of Smiling Faces Forever Foundation (http://www.smilingfacesforever.com/), a small non-profit organization that collects and delivers toys to hospital-bound children in Broward County during the holidays. The organization also has adopted families and provides school supplies to low-income families.
