Local Orthodontic Practice Places in Staff Competition Held at 2014 AAO Annual Session

CHICO, Calif. - May 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Image Orthodontics is proud to announce that two of its staff members were chosen to participate in the Orthodontic Staff Presentation Competition held at the 2014 American Association of Orthodontists Annual Session and placed 4th and 5th in the competition.

About the Orthodontic Staff Presentation Competition: Any orthodontic staff member interested in competing had a chance to submit an application along with a 10-minute PowerPoint presentation to the AAO Council on Orthodontic Practice.  The Council reviewed the applications and presentations and selected eight finalists. The finalists competed amongst each other on Monday, April 28th in the AAO Orthodontic Staff Presentation Competition held in New Orleans. The presentation requirements were based on such orthodontic criteria as the following:

-Orthodontic oral hygiene
-Case presentation
-Inventory control & model storage
-Types of bands & bonds and how they are used
-Orthodontic patient care
-Patient information pamphlets/educational material
-Any subject based on a relevant projects/role enhancement in the orthodontic office

The Council on Orthodontic Practice judged the competition based on the following standards:  topic applicability to audience, evidence-based content, innovation of material, presentation visual quality and skills.  The winners received a monetary award along with an annual Orthodontic Staff Club membership.

Image Orthodontics’ staff member Kristen C. placed 4th with her presentation on 3D Imaging Reports and Jennifer H. placed 5th with her presentation regarding Home Care Instructions along with an explanation of treatment.
