Follow on Google News | Yorkshire's Sports Stars Show Their Support for Sense at Snozone CastlefordBy: Snozone Supporting its event on Saturday 31st May and fresh from the Sochi Olympics will be Freeskier Katie Summerhayes from Sheffield and Paralympic Sitskier Jo Willoughby from Barnsley. With a presence from the Huddersfield Marching Band, the world’s fastest marching band, who recently completed the London marathon complete with instruments! Customers will be able to book a seven hour slope pass at Snozone Castleford within Xscape and 25% of all proceeds will be donated to Sense to help fund its important work, helping to change lives across the UK. On the day of the event, the slopes will include freestyle features such as race gates where riders can try to beat the professional coaches. Complimentary sledging sessions will be on offer to all families who are supported by Sense and Disability Snowsport UK (DSUK) will also provide taster lessons to give people with any disability the opportunity to try winter sports. It promises to be a memorable event for skiers, snowboarders and also for spectators, who are welcome to visit and watch for free. Sue Piper, the Coroprate Fundraising Manager at Sense says: “We are delighted to join forces with Snozone in this charity partnership. We look forward to supporting the Snozone sites in both Milton Keynes and Castleford in their efforts to raise funds for our projects and services in the next two years. Our dedicated team will work closely with Snozone to ensure the partnership is successful for all concerned.” Zoe Fenner, General Manager, Snozone Castleford says: “We are thrilled that Katie and Jo will be here to support our new partnership with Sense. 18-year-old Katie has an exciting career ahead of her and Jo is an absolute inspiration, who defied all odds to compete in the British Paralympic team. The setup will be a slope style jam session with a team event at the end of the night. Prizes will be awarded to the best sponsored and unsponsored riders in categories such as best stack, best trick and many more. Pre-registration is essential. Tapas & Salsa every Thursday Night from 6pm Enjoy a Spanish themed evening in the Snobar with Salsa dancing & tuition plus delicious Tapas on the last Thursday of the month.
