MARIETTA, Ga. - May 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Tom Carter grew up listening to the great British Invasion Bands of the 1960s, but was also a child of the 70s, and the early eighties.  Therefore, he loves a lot of different types of music, be it funk, punk, new wave and blues to name a few.  So it's no surprise that a few of Tom's favs include: Beatles, Beastie Boys, Animals, Butler(Richard of the Furs and/or Love Spit Love), Cars, Sade, Clash, Cream, Cult, Doors, God Fathers, Joe Jackson, Led Zeppelin, Morrisey, Ocean Blue, Outfield, Otis Redding, Ramones, REM, Spinners, Who.  Okay, that's more than a few, but you get the idea.

What always mattered to Tom was that the song was genuine and sincere.  Of course, a hooky pop, and a good beat always mattered too.  Gotta have a good story to tell as well (read here, good lyrics).  By genuine and sincere, he means that the song moved you in some way.  It made you dance, made you cry, made you think, made you want to learn and hear more songs from the artist that created that song.  In other words, you wanted to become a fan of that music.  I think my music is an honest interpretation and reflection of the music that I grew up listening to and love so dearly.  Tom's hope is that you will enjoy listening to his songs as much as he enjoys writing and performing them.

Tom will bring his signature sound and vibe to the stage at Darwin's Burgers and Blues on Thursday, May 22nd, in front of a live audience.  Those unable to attend in person can tune in for free online and watch here: http://www.dirtysouthtv.com/live-broadcast/live-tv-1.html from 12:00P.M. - 2:00P.M.
