Ouachita Baptist University Names Anna Sikes the 2014 Garrett Ham Scholar

May 16, 2014 - PRLog -- At its annual awards reception, the Carl Goodson Honors Program at Ouachita Baptist University named Anna Sikes the 2014 Garrett Ham Scholar.

Bentonville, Arkansas attorney Garrett Ham established the Garrett Ham Scholarship in 2008 while in law school because he believed a strong foundation in biblical scholarship to be essential to effective ministry. He wanted to provide high-quality students, such as Anna Sikes, with the additional funds necessary to take advantage of educational opportunities that may otherwise be unavailable. The scholarship provides approximately $1,300 to aid students in their research efforts through travels to academic conferences and the purchase of scholarly resources.

The Ouachita Honors Council chaired by Dr. Barbara Pemberton selected Anna Sikes, a senior Christian Studies major (double emphasis in Biblical Studies and Christian Ministry) from Greenbrier, Arkansas as the 2014 recipient.

Anna Sikes will use the money to travel to Houston, Texas to attend a conference on spiritual formation.
