Follow on Google News | Spring Health Fair and Funfest Comes to Oak CliffEvent Part of University General Hospital Dallas Campaign to Improve the Health and Well-Being of Underserved Communities
By: University General Health - Dallas University General Hospital Dallas will host a Spring Family Health Fair and Funfest on its campus at 2929 South Hampton from 9AM until 1PM. In addition to free health screenings for high blood pressure, diabetes and several other health indicators, the event will feature activities for children, free food, prize raffles and a neighborhood yard sale. Families will be welcomed by Congressman Marc Veasey and other local dignitaries, and music will be provided by a live band. Local radio stations will also be on site. The event is part of an ongoing campaign of community health outreach and promotions launched by University General Hospital Dallas. Opening less than two years ago, University General Hospital Dallas has made major inroads in serving a significantly medically underserved population in Dallas, attracting patients from largely working-class and indigent communities throughout the region. The general acute care hospital is part of the publicly-traded University General Health System based in Houston, and was designed to offer a new approach to hospital care – one that combines the personal care and social support of a small community hospital with the medical expertise and technology typically found in larger regional institutions. For more information, please call the hospital directly at 214-623-4400, or email media spokesman Eddie Reeves at Eddie@ReevesStrategyGroup.com. End
