-- From the original selection, Sheena Phua had to drop out because of family commitments and was replaced by Yasha Katerina Go (18 y.o./170cm). Patricia Lee could not show up as well due to a last minute emergency.
During the two-and-a-half-
hour Final, hosted by the gregarious Mr. Lars Voedisch from Precious Communications, the finalists dazzled the jury and the guests with their good looks, poise, talents and charming personalities. Besides the usual categories like swimwear presentation and question-and-
answer, the talent showcase saw the finalists performing a variety of acts – from singing to dancing to gymnastics, playing the cello to performing artwork, playing an instrument to performing a DJ set. Truly a combination of beauty and talent!
For the question-and-
answer session, the finalists tackled the tough question about local charity Bone Marrow Donor Programme: Why do more people need to come forward as bone marrow donors? Displaying intelligence and eloquence, the contestants gave thoughtful answers, which impressed both judges and audience.
The three winners of the night were selected after careful deliberation from the distinguished panel of judges. They are:
Poojaa Gill : Winner of Miss Asia Pacific Singapore Title: 23 years old : 170 cm
Tammy Mao : Winner of Miss Asia Pacific Singapore Best Body Title : 27 y.o. : 167cm
Haymisha Francis : Winner of subsidiary title Miss 83 : 19 y.o. : 168cm
Poojaa Gill, incidentally also the Singapore representative in Asia’s Next Top Model (Season 2), impressed with her good looks, impeccable catwalk, Indian fusion dance number and insightful answers.
And so the competition (and adventure!) continues for Poojaa as she travels to Seoul, South Korea in two days to join the national winners of 52 other countries, all vying for the ultimate international title, which will open up a new world of possibilities and opportunities.
