Local Cancer Center Recognized with Outstanding Achievement Award

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - May 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Lutheran Hospital’s Comprehensive Cancer Center has received the American College of Surgeon’s Commission on Cancer (CoC) Outstanding Achievement Award. The Lutheran Cancer Center operates in partnership with Radiation Oncology Associates, P.C., a 21^st Century Oncology affiliate.

The CoC Outstanding Achievement Award is designed to recognize cancer programs that strive for excellence in providing quality care to cancer patients. Potential cancer programs are evaluated based on committee leadership, data management, cancer conferences, quality improvement and clinical management.

Dr. Mantravadi co-chairs with the Lutheran cancer committee alongside Board Certified Medical Oncologist Steven N. Rhinehart, M.D. with Fort Wayne Medical Oncology and Hematology.

Patients receiving cancer care at the Lutheran Cancer Center have access to clinical trials through collaborations with Radiation Oncology Associates and Fort Wayne Medical Oncology and Hematology. These clinical trials help bring cutting-edge treatments to qualifying Fort Wayne area patients.
