PRLog - May 14, 2014 - EAST PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link Inc.’s (SEM Link) Math and Science Career Academy will bring hands on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activities to the Fourth Annual Reading Bonanza in the Park.  The event hosted by Stanford Alumni in partnership with Computers for Everyone will take place on Saturday, May 17th, 2014 from 11:00am to 3:00pm at Bell Street Park at 550 Bell Street, East Palo Alto, CA.
The purpose of the event is to showcase the diversity of books and promote the joy of reading. Families will be exposed to community resources, programs and various aspects of reading for entertainment, education and empowerment… all while having fun and getting free stuff!!

This is a free fun family literacy expo held at a park and open to the public. The event will consist of reading activities, games, and entertainment hosted by 100+ volunteers and 30+ community organizations.  Free books will be given to all youth attending. There will be free food, refreshments, snacks, and many giveaways. The 106 KMEL Street Team will be out playing music. A group from Live in Peace’s Music Academy will be performing.

SEM Link’s hands on STEM activities are for kids of all ages. These activities not only give students an opportunity to develop their STEM literacy skills, explore the creative side of STEM and observe STEM in the park. “SEM Link is excited to support this event for a second year in a row. We believe that is it important for families to read and do hands on STEM together and this event creates a great space for them to do both” – Tokiwa T. Smith, SEM Link Founder and Executive Director.
