Follow on Google News | Charles Thompson Delivers Edvard Grieg DuplexPlant process engineering company Charles Thompson Ltd has completed 'demanding' contract for the Edvard Grieg oil field development in Norway.
By: Charles Thompson Ltd Duplex & Super Duplex Steel fabrications up to 50mm thick were produced according to strict Norsok M650, M630 and project specification requirements; Around 20 skilled CTL engineers and welders are working on the projects; the company currently employs 84 people in its process plant operations at its South Yorkshire, UK base. Peter Coe, Technical Director of CTL, said: “With materials and welding for the Norwegian offshore sector, the requirements are constantly changing – what was acceptable last year on project is no longer the case. “These are fairly demanding project that test our own advancements in material knowledge and welding technology, and we successfully met the stringent Norsok and Project specification requirements.” CTL has won contracts for two other Duplex/Super Duplex projects for the Norwegian offshore sector, which will be delivered to the Ivar Aasenand Martin Linge platforms. The company, which is in its 45th year, recently launched a new website, which showcases the materials it works with and its facilities, which include one of the largest clean workshops in the UK. Its customers include Rolls Royce and BP. Ivar Aasen is operated by Det Norske and Statoil, Edvard Grieg by Lundin Petroleum and Martin Linge by Total. End
