Tyler Brooks of DeSoto, TX Awarded $1,500 Scholarship by the National Black Marathoners Association

DALLAS - May 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Tyler Brooks of DeSoto, TX Awarded $1,500 Scholarship from the National Black Marathoners Association

Tyler Brooks of DeSoto, TX was awarded a $1,500 scholarship from the National Black Marathoners Association. Tyler is a senior at DeSoto High School, which is just south of Dallas, TX. He participated in cross country, middle and long distance track events, and races in 5K events. He also served on the Student Council and was active with the theater arts group. Tyler received a recommendation from Dallas’ Southsiders Running Club in which they mentioned that he had performed volunteer work for them and was a life guard at Dallas community swimming pools.

About National Black Marathoners' Association: The National Black Marathoners Association (NBMA) is the USA's largest, not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to encouraging Black Americans and others to pursue a healthy life-style through distance running and walking. It is open to everyone, regardless of their athletic ability or previous marathon experience.
