Young Americans Center Celebrates Young Colorado Entrepreneurs

DENVER - May 13, 2014 - PRLog -- Young Americans Center for Financial Education (www.yacenter.org), a nonprofit organization headquartered in Denver that teaches financial and work skills to 50,000 youth every year, is seeking young business owners for the 13th annual Celebration for Young Entrepreneurs.  This unique competition is for entrepreneurs, ages 6-21, who own and run a business in Colorado.  Businesses can range from lawn mowing and pet care to jewelry making and photography, and almost everything in between.

Winners receive $1,000 and finalists receive $250 to be used for business or education.  In addition, winners will be paired with a Presenting Mentor – a businessperson from the community who is willing to share business advice and encouragement.

The deadline to apply is Sunday, June 8, 2014.  A panel of independent judges will then read the applications and select one winner and two finalists from three age categories

Winners, finalists and all applicants will be invited to the Celebration for Young Entrepreneurs awards event during Denver Startup Week in September.  More details on the event will be announced this summer.
