NEW YORK - May 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Employees of Branch Restoration, Inc. had a recent opportunity to attend compliance training  and receive the prestigious “Critical Environment Professional” accreditation related to the healthcare industry. This exclusive training was sponsored by the Environmental Contractors Association (ECA),  and written specifically by The Linders Health Institute for ECA.

The extensive training focused on mandatory protocols for the Environment of Care and the patient population for the reduction of risk and management of liability while working in the healthcare industry. It specifically taught about infection control, emerging infectious diseases, air and waterborne pathogens, MRSA and exposure risks, and the dangers of cross-contamination. The training also covered proper communication protocol in medical environments during construction/remediation for healthcare facilities.

"The course addressed the primary issues of Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) as it relates to remediation contractors working in a healthcare facility", stated Gary Matzelle, Vice President of Branch Restoration. "Performing any type of construction or remediation services in a healthcare setting requires a thorough understanding of critical environments and exposure risks during real work time", said Matzelle.

"Contractors need to be aware and follow proper protocol when dealing in healthcare areas prone to infections and contamination" said Matzelle. " The Linders Health Institute stressed that proper training reduces liability for the healthcare facility, contractor and risk to the patient population. It also meets requirements for National Patient Safety Goals."

Branch Restoration will be incorporating the ICRA training into their daily operations and procedures related to the healthcare field, as well as expanding their services in the NY Metro area.
