Follow on Google News | Paws Against Peanuts: North Carolina Blue Line Kid in hopes of getting a service dogPlease help us sponsor Denny the Service Dog by purchasing a PetSmart gift card or donating $5, $10 or $20 to assist our North Carolina Blue Line Kid Emmalee by keeping her safe and far away from peanuts.
By: Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. In May 2013, Emmalee suffered another severe attack when a previous customer had been at the table before their family at their favorite “peanut free” restaurant and indulged in a food containing peanuts brought in from an outside source. The residue left on the table made her face swell, break out into hives and suffer from a 106 fever for five days. A few months later, Emmalee was at a racetrack to watch her grandfather race and she came into contact with peanut butter. Within minutes from the exposure she was struggling to breathe. The incident resulted in two days in the pediatric unit of the local hospital. The first two years of Emmalee’s life had her facing a life and death situation. Her family has made a decision that a service dog would be the best way to guarantee Emmalee’s safety as she grows. While the cost of a service dog is overwhelming, the purpose of this dog saving her life is not something to put a price on, but her family needs your help and support. North Carolina Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. has created a campaign to help Emmalee live a more safe and fulfilling life. $10,000 is a daunting expense, but a $5, $10 or $20 donation is more than manageable and together we can give Emmalee a brighter, less restrictive future. Emmalee may be too small to understand her allergy, but she will grow up knowing a village of people came together to give her the life she deserves.
