Famous PEOPLE Players Celebrates 40 Years of Fire, Passion and Purpose

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - May 13, 2014 - PRLog -- The internationally acclaimed black-light theatre company, Famous PEOPLE Players is celebrating their 40th Year Anniversary on Saturday, May 31 from 6pm until 9:30pm at their exciting Dine and Dream Theatre (343 Evans Avenue), where special happens.

Among those who will be honoured for their support and generosity and receive a medal of honour from Diane Dupuy, Founder and member of Order of Canada, are Canadian hockey legend Johnny Bower who’s incredible goal tending led the Toronto Maple Leafs to four Stanley Cups, Senator Art Eggleton, and actor Ron James whose performance in the Hollywood movie Special People, based on Diane Dupuy and Famous PEOPLE Players, was an emotional portrayal of a person with special needs.

7:00pm:Gourmet Dinner prepared by Celebrity Chef Extraordinaire Chef Hemant Kanchan, CCC, Professor, Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts, George Brown College

8 – 8:45pm:Famous PEOPLE Players perform Going Bananas

About the Famous PEOPLE Players' Dine & Dream Theatre:

A place where hospitality is at the heart of life, the Famous PEOPLE Players' Dine & Dream Theatre was first opened by the Governor General of Canada, Ramon Hynatyshyn, in 1994, twenty years after the original founding of the theatre company in 1974 by member of the Order of Canada, Diane Dupuy. The goal of the Culinary Arts Program is to expand the players' life skills as most of the players are people who are challenged. It was actor Paul Newman who first believed in this program by lending his support and encouragement to the Culinary Arts Dream Program. At the Dine & Dream Theatre, the Players learn to prepare a memorable meal for patrons to enjoy. In addition to their kitchen responsibilities, they also set up the dining room, learn hospitality, customer service, and also pride themselves on performing in the show.

The Famous PEOPLE Players' Newman’s Own Kitchen, under the artistic direction of great Canadian celebrity Chef, Christopher Woods, has generously given of his time and talent to help Famous PEOPLE Players develop and create a menu which will inspire your love of food. Christopher oversees and advises the team to ensure they perform to the highest standards in the world of cuisine.
