Harris, writer and educator will motivate you to remove personal road blocks that hinder financial success.  As a bonus, Melanie will reveal the wealth principles that all wealth people apply to help attain wealth in this new economy.

Melanie Perry graduated from University of California at San Diego with a Bachelors of Science degree in Quantitative Economics. Upon graduation she decided to enter the field of Financial Planning.  She has acquired the series 7, 63 and 65 as well as her life insurance licenses.  In August of 2012 she decided to venture out on her own to create, Perry’s Financial Services Company, where she specializes in tax efficient strategies that increase wealth and establish legacies.  She has helped numerous people retire comfortably, have adequate funds to send children to college or start a business and protect families from financial ruin.
For over a decade she has empowered people by educating them on financial matters that lead to sustainable wealth by conducting numerous seminars and workshops for professional organizations, Churches, sororities, real-estate firms, and women’s organizations throughout the nation.

Peter J. Harris has since the 1970s published his poetry, essays, and fiction in a wide range of national publications; worked as a publisher, journalist, editor and broadcaster; and been an educator, and workshop leader for adults and adolescents.  Harris is founding director of The Black Man of Happiness Project, a creative, intellectual and artistic exploration of Black men and joy. He co-wrote the project’s first publication, Gritt Tuff Play Book: Hard Core Wisdom for Young People, and is author of the project’s forthcoming book, The Black Man of Happiness: In Pursuit of My ‘Unalienable Right.’  In 2011, he was a Contributor-Collaborator with his daughter Adenike A. Harris in a candid, ethical, loving dialogue between a Black father and a Black daughter confronting, surviving, and transcending her rape by a Black step father; that dialogue became her Creative  Master’s Thesis: Restorative Notions: Regaining My Voice, Regaining My Father: A Creative Womanist Approach to Healing from Sexual Abuse, Georgia State University. Harris co-edited Relive Everything & Live the Same: VoiceMusic from Avenue 50’s Black-Brown Dialogues Project, an anthology published by Avenue 50 Studio, Los Angeles (2011). His magazine, “Genetic Dancers: The Artistry Within African/American Fathers,” published during the 1980s, was the first magazine of its kind and asserted that African American fathers become artists through the frictions of conscientious parenting. His book Hand Me My Griot Clothes: The Autobiography of Junior Baby, featured a philosophical elder Black man ruminating on life, love, and ethics, and won the PEN Oakland award for multicultural literature in 1993.
