Team GA - Working Hard to Make it to TAFISA World Games!

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. - May 12, 2014 - PRLog -- "It’s all about the community supporting our kids! " says Michelle Brown – Parent Coordinator of the Kickathon for Team GA at Golden Isles Martial Arts Academy at The Brick SSI. On Sunday, May 4th, Team GA’s fundraising Kick-a-Thon was a major success, raising $4,000 towards their goal!

The Kick-a-thon took place during the 1 year Anniversary Event for Airport Plaza; which also included a bounce house, food & beverages , face painting, raffle items & other events coordinated by the Airport Plaza Businesses.

The Kick-a-thon raised funds towards the US Martial Arts Team -Team GA’s travels to the world games– all 12 students being from Glynn County, GA. The US Martial Arts Team will compete in the TAFISA World Martial Arts Games at the Richmond Olympic Oval in Richmond, Canada on September 3-7, 2014.

Golden Isles Martial Arts Academy opened their doors to the community in October 2010. Through hard work and diligence, they have proven in just three short years that GIMAA is a world-class dojo, producing excellence in martial arts by ending 2013 with three students ranked top 5 in the North American Sport Karate Association (NASKA), and the inclusion in the World Games training for 2014.
