PRLog - May 12, 2014 - PUEBLO, Colo. -- Brad Caldwell, Superintendent and the School Board of Branson School District RE-82 congratulates the third graders who demonstrated their reading skills on state assessments this year. As a district, the results were significant with 93.7% of the districts third graders scoring proficient on their reading tests. This was compared to the 71.5% proficient & advanced for Colorado third graders as a whole. Our district recognizes that placing an emphasis on reading fluently and with depth in comprehension is critical to student success in all other subject areas. Teachers in both of our district schools have embraced the challenge that their instruction across subject areas supports the goal of advancing the skills of reading in Kindergarten through graduation. These results of our third graders this year highlight the benefit of such an emphasis. Congratulation Students and Staff!
