DALLAS - May 12, 2014 - PRLog -- When 9-year-old Dallas boy Hector Montoya used his PlayStation 4 money to buy smoke detectors for his neighbors, he inspired and touched a nation.  Now the video game world looks to honor the young man for his selfless good deed.

A special presentation will be taking place for Montoya at A-Kon 25 on Saturday, June 7 at 6:15 p.m.  Held at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, the young video game fan's moment will take place in the video game tournament room.

Presenting Montoya with the Future Legacy Award for video gaming will be North Texas based video game personality Patrick Scott Patterson and actress Rachel Lara.

"What Hector did was the epitome of good," Patterson said.  "In a world where video games are far too often blamed for the horrible decisions of others, Hector's actions show that good parenting is the true ultimate influence for a young child and video game fan."

In addition to the awards, a number of PlayStation 4 titles will be presented for Hector to enjoy on his new PlayStation 4 console, which was provided to him after his selfless story went viral.  These titles are courtesy of a fundraising effort by Killeen-area video game ambassador Josh Jones.

The media is invited and encouraged to attend Montoya's award ceremony and watch as video gaming comes together to celebrate this inspirational young man.
