One Thousand Reasons To Celebrate

The Harlequin Author Network Reaches 1,000 Registered Authors

PRLog - May 12, 2014 - TORONTO, Canada -- Today, the Harlequin Author Network (HAN) celebrated a new milestone with the registration of its 1,000th author.  The online author portal, launched in October 2012, is a powerful resource for the publisher’s authors.  With HAN, Harlequin authors can access the most up-to-date details on their sales and royalty statements, view their foreign editions, revise their biographies, update their contact information and benefit from exclusive marketing and communications content.

“HAN is constantly evolving to better suit our authors’ needs,” said Loriana Sacilotto, Executive Vice President, Global Editorial, Harlequin.  “It’s a two-way communications vehicle for us and our author base.  Recently, we launched an Asked and Answered page that allows authors to anonymously ask any questions they want about Harlequin.  It’s one of the most popular sections on the portal and a great way for us to respond quickly to author concerns and questions.”

In addition to vital business details, HAN provides Harlequin authors with exclusive access to a wealth of training and tips on promoting books and managing social media properties as well as breaking news regarding the changing publishing landscape. The portal also serves as a communications tool for Harlequin to share information about its new initiatives and launches, its corporate social responsibility program, its authors’ successes and appearances, and more.

A key component of HAN’s success is the presence of Harlequin’s Online Author Liaison, Concierge Services—a role currently being filled by Stephanie Doig.  Along with managing HAN content and creating new functionalities within the site, Doig is a hands-on personal contact for authors to reach out to. They contact her with their questions and concerns, knowing that she will provide or pursue solutions for them. “We have a lot planned for HAN,” said Doig.  “We are continuously evolving the content based on feedback from our authors to ensure it is the most effective tool possible for them.  We believe HAN offers Harlequin authors a tremendous advantage over our competitors, and we expect to see the results of that competitive benefit.”

The Harlequin Author Network is an exclusive online resource for Harlequin authors and their agents.
