Teams have been scrambling to replay their unplayed games at the same time as beginning their town’s recreation programs. NEBAS/Bergen All Stars has always maintained a long standing relationship with the area’s recreation programs and because of that have rules in place to ensure that. “We are a Sunday Travel league in the Spring and never conflict with Recreation Programs because of that” , continues Soumas, “we do not schedule games on the Spring’s religious holidays, be it Easter or Passover. In addition we cap the number of innings that any pitcher throws in a game to 2 innings at each of the youth levels so that no pitchers arms are over used.” NEBAS/Bergen All Stars runs their Spring :League for its member towns from March through mid June and the NEBAS Summer League will pick up on June 16 and run through July 31. A smaller NEBAS Fall League, Sundays only begins the Sunday after Labor Day through the 1st week of November. For more information please check out the NEBAS website, http://bergenallstars.wordpress.com.
