12 weeks ago I was 100 lbs overweight, and lacking in self confidence
I told myself that I would one day get my butt in gear and get into the condition I’ve always wanted to be. Well, days, months and years went by and I did nothing to change the way I was eating and working out. As a firefighter I believe it is necessary to be in the best physical shape I can be, not just for me, but also for the members of my team. If I lack endurance, it’s going to show, causing my team members to have to work even harder.
How I did it?
I decided to hire a personal trainer and nutritionist. I came across Jose Fuentes
Master Trainer At Shapes R In. Jose is the creator of the Tornado Weight Loss System’.He told me 3 main things at the beginning : 1. I was retaining a lot of water weight (but that would come off). 2. I would be making big changes to the way I ate. 3. By January I would see the weight literally melting off.
My very first workout, Jose took things slow and explained each exercise and what muscles it worked. I was so out of shape, by the time I finished, my entire body was shaking and all my muscles were quivering. Each subsequent workout got easier and I began to enjoy the workouts.
I have lost the weight. (Way more than I expected). As a Firefighter, I am able to accomplish tasks easier and without panting or getting tired as easily. As a Maintenance worker, I lift heavier loads and move things more easily without “huffing and puffing.”
I actually look forward to making my meals on Sunday for the rest of the week, which makes life a lot easier because of my crazy schedule. I realized and decided during the 12 weeks that I wanted this to be a way of life for me and didn’t want to revert back to my old ways. Months later I feel amazing and I am continuing to keep the weight off with the tools I was given.
I liked the fact that I was able to sit down with Jose and pick his brain about diet and supplements. Each week, he would help plan a menu with my input. We were even able to work in “cheat days” and I still continued to lose weight. Yes, I was able to eat Pizza, Chinese Buffets, and Italian Food!
It's been incredible! I had no idea the confident, self-assured, and tenacious person I had hiding inside. I honestly feel that there's nothing that I can't do if I put my mind to it. I also enjoy making exercise videos for Jose for his weight loss blogs. which helps me stay motivated in my quest for six pack abs!
Jose and I are setting up new goals and benchmarks and I’m exciting to reach them and stay healthy for the rest of my life!
This is simply a lifestyle that I would hold on to for life!
