Georgia's Lake Lanier Islands Resort® Opens the “Floodgates” to LanierWorld on May 17

BUFORD, Ga. - May 9, 2014 - PRLog -- A favorite destination among Atlanta natives and Southern vacationers alike, LanierWorld at Georgia’s Lake Lanier Islands Resort will soon be filled to overflowing with fun seekers and sun worshippers. Set on the shores of Lake Sidney Lanier in landlocked North Georgia, LanierWorld fans have been waiting since September 2013 for the return of the popular beach, waterpark and boardwalk entertainment district. They will get their wish on Saturday, May 17 when LanierWorld opens daily for the 2014 season.

What’s New for LanierWorld’s 2014 Season?:

LanierWorld Family Season Pass: While the Resort has always offered Individual Season Passes to its beach, waterpark and boardwalk entertainment district, this year it is pleased to introduce the Family Season Pass. For just $229.99, a family of three will be granted unlimited access to LanierWorld during operating hours throughout the 2014 season. Additional perks include free resort access and parking during the season (valued at $10/visit), “Friend Day” discounts of 50% off admission for up to 5 friends on Tuesdays and Thursdays, unlimited access to carnival rides and more. Additional family members can be added for $69.99 each (children 2 and under are admitted to LanierWorld free of charge.)

SweetWater Shrimp Shack on the Boardwalk:  Following last season’s terrific response to the Sunset Cantina along LanierWorld’s Boardwalk, the Resort is pleased to unveil the SweetWater Shrimp Shack for 2014 – which will feature fried shrimp by the half-pound and pound, perfectly accompanied by an assortment of dipping sauces and locally brewed SweetWater 420 on tap. Also joining the Shrimp Shack in its debut this season, the Cookie House will feature fresh baked cookies to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Food and Beverage Service on the Beach and Docks: Well known for its provision of outstanding customer service, Lake Lanier Islands Resort now extends that concept to boaters and beachgoers. Friendly servers will circulate specially marked beach areas, as well as the docks at Sunset Cove and Big Beach in search of hungry and thirsty guests.

Ladies Night Wednesdays and Trivia Night Thursdays at Sunset Cove Beach Café & Club: Two new events have been added to this beachfront eatery’s weekly rotation of fun that already includes Masterpiece Mondays, Volleyball Tuesdays and Low Country Boil Fridays – in addition to famed monthly Full Moon Parties and regular live entertainment. Thanks to Sunset Cove’s new retractable enclosure, the rain will never again dampen diners’ spirits. LanierWorld Gift Cards:  This year, gift givers can delight their recipients with the gift of LanierWorld.
