Follow on Google News | Twin Cities Hospital Announces Postpartum Depression Support GroupBirth & Baby Center Offers Free Support Group for Mothers Adjusting to Motherhood
By: Twin Cities Community Hospital This free, ongoing group session focuses on teaching positive coping skills and providing support and education. Risk factors and symptoms of postpartum depression are discussed, as well as strategies for managing the new challenges of motherhood. The support group is facilitated by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and meets the third Wednesday of the month from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Founders’ Pavilion located at 1100 Las Tablas Road, Templeton, CA 93465. Mothers, babies and support persons are all welcome to attend. “We have identified the community’s need for proper instruction and assistance with certain delicate aspects of motherhood from post-partum support to breastfeeding, all of which can sometimes be distressing and emotionally challenging for new mothers,” explains Shareen Taylor, RNC-OB, IBCLC, MBA, MSN, C-EFM Director of Perinatal Services at Twin Cities Community Hospital.
