“Family Fights to Save Daughter Eliza…Lake Wylie Marina Hosts Movie Night To Help Raise Money

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - May 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Generous people from all over the world have donated over $713,697 to save Eliza O’Neill.  Now, Lake Wylie Marina hosts movie night on Lake Wylie, Friday, May 16^th at sunset to raise money and awareness of Saving Eliza’s story.

Four year old Eliza ONeill was diagnosed with Sanfilippo Syndrome, a rare genetic disease that attacks her brain and could lead to death by her early teens.  But, there is a potential cure IF enough money is raised to fund a clinical trial at Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

In an effort to spread the word from Columbia, SC to the world (donations have come in from Europe, Australia and all over the US) and now to Charlotte, NC. Hall Marine Lake Wylie Marina will be showing “Finding Nemo” in a Boat-In Movie Event to raise more awareness and money.  They will be accepting donations thru the summer and at the free movie night events.

Matt Sellhorst, cousin to the O’Neill family and employee of Hall Marine said, “With two girls of my own, we had to come up with some way to contribute.  With the help of the Lake Wylie boating community and Charlotte as a whole, I know we can help Eliza’s family get the clinical trial funded before the damage is irreversible”

Future movie dates will be the 3^rd Friday of the month (June 20, July 18 & August 15) thru the summer where donations will be accepted.
