Follow on Google News | Topbulb Announces Redesign and Expansion of Germicidal Light Bulb Product LineSpecialty lighting retailer Topbulb has announced a revamping of its ultraviolet germicidal product category, adding new light bulbs and simplifying the shopping experience for customers.
By: Topbulb “Topbulb has always had a strong focus on ultraviolet, germicidal, pond, aquarium, and horticulture lights, and with our newly launched website, we wanted to improve the UVC category for our visitors,” said Andrew Shebath, General Manager of the company. “We had two challenges to meet for this project. Initially, we wanted our product line to reflect the expansion of the industry, which required adding more light bulbs. Second, we wanted to make the shopping experience easier for users, whether they knew the exact part number they needed, or if they only knew the make and model of the equipment the bulb came out of. We met both of these goals, which will allow our customers to find what they need without confusion or missteps.” Website visitors can easily find the germicidal light bulbs they are looking for, with the easy navigation of the site itself and the ultraviolet category. The newly designed section of the site provides UV customers with a simplified experience that focuses on the user experience and simplicity. The most prominent part of the redesign is a two-column layout that allows visitors to search for a light bulb by the type of bulb they have and the part number, or by the brand and model of their equipment. With germicidal light bulbs being used in a variety of applications, from disinfecting air, water, and food; to killing mold and fungus in popular Koi ponds, the abundance of bulbs on the market can be confusing to the average consumer or commercial customer. The newly designed section of the Topbulb website addresses this problem by simplifying the search and shopping experiences. Topbulb implemented the new design in early May of 2014 after a months-long research and planning process. This came only a few months after a complete site redesign, which provided the company the new platform on which to improve its germicidal product selection and navigation.
