PRLog - May 7, 2014 - QUINCY, Mass. -- The South Shore Chamber of Commerce, the region’s largest Chamber, today announced that Eastern Nazarene College has been named a President’s Partner for the year 2014.

Eastern Nazarene College is one of only 40 organizations to hold this prestigious position with the South Shore Chamber. Partnerships provide financial commitment to the Chamber and afford the partners promotional opportunity, high level connections with other Chamber partners and high-level participation in Chamber activities, while boosting the Chamber’s visibility.

Eastern Nazarene College is a fully accredited traditional liberal arts college.  Founded in 1900 in Saratoga Springs, the college moved to its current location in 1919.  ENC has 1,459 students distributed across a traditional residential undergraduate program, adult studies, and a graduate program.  ENC is known for its success in getting students into top graduate and medical schools and has a 100 percent acceptance rate for its students into law school.  While many faculty members are active in publishing and research, and some are leaders in their fields, the emphasis is on the teaching and mentoring of students in a nurturing, spiritually informed, and academically supportive environment.  ENC is one of 160 members of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU).

“We are very interested in being a responsible community partner in both the business and non-profit communities,” stated Corlis McGee, president of Eastern Nazarene College.  “We also feel it’s very important for our students to recognize this – that they should contribute to their community, and be involved in a meaningful way.

“Our partnership with the South Shore Chamber is one way that we can do this, and one way that we can open the wider community doors for our students,” she added.

Peter Forman, CEO of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, said, “We are delighted to announce Eastern Nazarene College as a 2014 Partner of the South Shore Chamber.  ENC is a strong academic institution and great contributor to our South Shore community.” He added, “We appreciate their support and their being part of our mutual effort to make the South Shore an even better place to live and to work.”
