easyJet partners with CTC Aviation to deliver MPL with optional BSc Hons Degree

New CTC WINGS easyJet MPL Route includes optional BSc Honours Degree

May 7, 2014 - PRLog -- CTC Aviation – easyJet’s preferred supplier of cadet pilots – has announced the opening of its first 2014 application window for the new CTC WINGS MPL Route in partnership with easyJet.  The programme will see 36 successful applicants commence their training with CTC Aviation from July 2014 and begin operating as A320 First Officers for easyJet within 2 years.

For the first time, this ground breaking programme also offers trainee pilots the chance to opt in to ‘the easyJet degree’ and add a BSc Honours Degree in Professional Aviation Pilot Practice to their qualifications when they graduate from CTC Aviation.

‘The easyJet Degree’ - the first of its kind in the world – was launched by the airline’s CEO Carolyn McCall when she was speaking at CTC Aviation’s annual graduation in December 2013 –

“I believe that it is absolutely vital to easyJet’s future that we have a pipeline of talented young people coming through and that’s why I am delighted we are now working in partnership with CTC Aviation and Middlesex University to offer a degree course for our pilots.  Pilots joining easyJet will be flying on a modern fleet of aircraft, with industry leading punctuality, high quality training and an unrivalled European network.

“By offering a clear career path with faster promotion opportunities, pilots joining easyJet can be confident of a long and successful career.

“CTC Aviation is one of our most important partners, having responded to our needs and provided innovative solutions to the challenges we have faced since our first flight in 1995.  We look forward to extending our relationship to ensure the very best opportunities for our future pilots.”

‘The easyJet degree’ - which is exclusively available through CTC Aviation - is an optional enhancement to the programme.  Developed in partnership with CTC Aviation, the Aviation Skills Partnership and Middlesex University, the first two years of ‘the easyJet Degree’ will be undertaken through the normal ‘CTC WINGS’ syllabus and the third year is achieved by undertaking jet type-rating, line training and two modules of easyJet-centred directed study whilst flying at easyJet.  Applicants are not required to opt in to the degree if they do not wish to.  However, for those who do choose to follow the degree path and are successful with their application, it may be possible to access maintenance loans and grants to support your study through Student Finance England.  More information can be found at www.slc.co.uk

Always keen to be at the leading edge of airline pilot training, in 2012 easyJet partnered with CTC Aviation to launch the Multi-crew Pilot Licence (MPL) programme for 24 cadets as a new Route through CTC WINGS.  Such was the success of the inaugural MPL programme, the airline has decided to do even more and this will be the first of a number of new MPL programmes with CTC Aviation throughout the year; almost doubling the number of pilots trained through the CTC WINGS MPL Route.

The first 2014 application window will be open to applicants from the EEA from 5th – 18th May 2014 and offers the opportunity for 36 successful applicants to progress into training with CTC Aviation and ultimately be employed by easyJet as A320 First Officers.

Trainees on the programme will benefit from CTC Aviation’s unique ‘Performance Protection’.  Early in 2014 CTC Aviation launched the new 2014 CTC WINGS ATPL Integrated and MPL Routes which saw this protection take to a new level with a number of significant enhancements* -

1.    Should any additional training (flight or ground), or aircraft for retest, be required throughout any phase of CTC WINGS training, this will be provided without additional charge

2.    A money back guarantee in the event that training should cease due to lack of performance

easyJet’s Chief Pilot, Richard Nanton will be the guest speaker at CTC Aviation’s forthcoming Careers Event on Saturday 10 May.
