Carnivale Launches New Free Event App

CAIRNS, Australia - May 6, 2014 - PRLog -- Port Douglas Carnivale general manager Roy Weavers said the app, which was available for use on iPhones, iPads and Android systems, had been developed in association with qwe.com.au.

"This is a great step forward for Carnivale. This year we will be printing 10,000 programs and while they are a fantastic resource they are snapped up fairly quickly.

“By offering this digital smart phone platform, we will be to reach an even greater audience and that is our ultimate goal.”

Mr Weavers said with almost 30 different events over the 10 days of Carnivale there was plenty to keep punters entertained.

“The first weekend we have loads of great family fun from the opening Street Parade to the Four Mile Beach Day and the Backyard Games on the Sunday.

“During the week we have sport, theatre, music, comedy, which lead into the second weekend with some of Carnivale’s highlight events such as Palates of Port, Taste Port Douglas, Food, Wine and a Taste of Port and the Seafood Extravaganza.”

“By using this smart phone app, people will be able to source the latest information on events throughout the 10 days,” Mr Weavers added.
