Her company, Nehita Inc., has provided support to many non-profit organizations in the United States and Africa. She is also one of the founders of an organization called Upward African Woman, a non-profit California based organization giving hope to disadvantaged women. The organization tackles issues of poverty, disease and illiteracy. Although Monalisa holds a law degree, she is known in Hollywood as the "Jewelry Designer to the Stars", designing for celebrities and clients who want a distinct look. Monalisa creates jewelry for both men and women using natural gems. "All of my gems are conflict free", said Monalisa. She was born in Lagos and attended the St Mary’s private school in Lagos, later attending the Federal Government Girls College, Calabar. She obtained a law degree at the University of Ekpoma. She acquired a knowledge of precious stones from the Gemological Institute of America. Monalisa calls herself a patriotic Nigerian who represents her country wherever she goes. She is more than that, she is a global ambassador who uses her celebrity to give those whose lives she touches, hope.
