Magnolias of Lancaster fundraiser benefits Walk to End Alzheimer’s Team

LANCASTER, Pa. - May 6, 2014 - PRLog -- Bet you didn’t realize that a Mockingbird, Rainbow Parrot, Finch or Gooney Bird could both taste good and help raise money in the effort to end Alzheimer’s disease.

     Of course, we’re talking sandwiches, not actual birds.

     Magnolias of Lancaster will hold a community night in conjunction with Isaac’s Famous Grilled Sandwiches restaurant at Granite Run Square, 1558 Manheim Pike. The event will be held on Tuesday, May 13.

     Isaac’s will donate 25 percent of the cost of meals served to diners who hand in a special fundraiser flyer. Proceeds will benefit Magnolias of Lancaster’s team in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which will be held on September 6.

    “All the money we raise for the Walk goes directly to the Alzheimer’s Association,” said Amie Ravert, Business Office Assistant at Magnolias of Lancaster. “We’re trying to raise as much money as possible, and with the help of Isaac’s Famous Grilled Sandwiches, we have an opportunity to increase our total donation in the Walk.”

     Community Nights have enabled Isaac’s Famous Grilled Sandwiches to assist many charities while forging a bond with customers.

     “Isaac’s Community Night fundraising program helps us establish relationships with wonderful groups in our local communities and neighborhoods,” said Debra Miller, Community Care Coordinator, Isaac’s Famous Grilled Sandwiches. “It’s a fun and easy fundraiser. You’re not begging people to buy subs or wrapping paper. You’re not cooking anything for dinner that night. You simply bring in the fundraising flyer, hand it to your server when paying, and 25 percent of your food and beverage purchase benefits the fundraiser.  We also give you 15 percent of gift cards purchased by fundraiser supporters that night.”

     Isaac’s menu features many deli specialty sandwiches named after both exotic and more traditional birds such as the Mockingbird, Gooney Bird, Phoenix, Rainbow Parrot, Finch, Hummingbird and Ruffed Grouse.

     “They come up with all kinds of different sandwiches named after different birds,” Ravert said. “It’s a family environment.”
