“Safe transitions require collaboration among providers – most importantly -- at admission to the facility and then when the medical tourism patient leaves,” said Renée-Marie Stephano (http://www.medicaltourismcongress.com/renee-marie-stephan...), President of the Medical Tourism Association®. “Each group in the continuum of care provides a different type of service for traveling patients. It is imperative for doctors, nurses and facilitators to identify those processes that appropriately integrate the various skill sets that ensure that successful outcomes are achieved and readmissions are avoided.”

Dr. Huffman, a board certified primary care physician, speaks extensively about safety issues related to the medical tourism experience that reduce perioperative and travel risk, improve clinical outcomes and increase patient referrals to domestic and international hospitals and surgical centers.

The Medical Tourism Association® is the first membership-based international nonprofit trade association for the medical tourism and healthcare industry made up of top international hospitals, healthcare providers, medical travel facilitators, insurance companies, and other affiliates committed to promoting the highest level of quality healthcare to patients in a global environment. www.MedicalTourismAssociation.com
