ANN ARBOR, Mich. - May 6, 2014 - PRLog -- ArborMotion participated in the Cancer Support Community’s “Amazing Race” fundraiser on Saturday, April 26, 2014. This road rally is an annual fundraising event that takes participants throughout the Ann Arbor area in a unique, scavenger hunt-type fashion. The teams must solve puzzles in order to figure out where the location of their next clue is, and this was arborMotion’s third year as a clue site sponsor. However, arborMotion decided to add a bit of its own fun to the race this year…

ArborMotion’s clue site location was in the Enterprise Rent-A-Car parking lot at Ann Arbor Municipal Airport. When the racing participants arrived at the site, they soon discovered that they would have to drive through an obstacle course in order to earn their next clue. With orange cones to their left and blue cones to their right, the drivers were told to maneuver their vehicles all the way through the course while their passengers enjoyed the show as well as some refreshments from the arborMotion hospitality tent. The drivers were informed that precision, not speed, was the goal of this “Autobahn in slow motion” course; however, there were definitely some cones that did not survive the event. In fact, one of arborMotion’s very own Porsche customers (who is a performance driver, by the way) reportedly hit more cones than any other driver. Fortunately, he was driving the family SUV, so no damage was done with the exception of a few scarred cones and a humbled driver. Nevertheless, most of the drivers did an excellent job overall, and they seemed to enjoy themselves.  “The participants were very positive about our clue site,” said Jason Gary of arborMotion. “Everyone left with a smile on their face.”

The Cancer Support Community is an invaluable resource for those within our community who are affected by cancer. The individuals, their caregivers, and their children are provided with free emotional and educational support by this nonprofit organization. This was the CSC’s sixth “Amazing Race,” and it was the largest and most successful one yet. ArborMotion would like to thank the following individuals for their assistance in making its “Amazing Race” clue site possible: Matthew Kulhanek (Manager, Ann Arbor Municipal Airport); Amy LaGrow-Rogers, Greg Haponek, and Matt Sykes (Enterprise-Rent-A-Car). ArborMotion would also like to thank School-Tech, Inc. for supplying over 100 traffic cones.
